Canon Digital Rebel XTi Review

The Canon Digital Rebel XTi has been launched on to the market boasting an array of technology & features designed to deliver optimal performance in a compact body, the Digital Rebel Xti offers advanced features for optimum performance with improved simplicity for the digital user.

In addition, the XTi is Canons first digital SLR to feature the new self cleaning sensor, that automatically keeps the XTi sensor dust & dirt free! This is a fantastic feature of a top range digital SLR! Reference frames can also be tagged to individual images for the automatic removal of more annoying dirt & dust particles using software which comes supplied with the camera package. Another fantastic feature for this digital SLR model.

The Canon Digital Rebel XTi can accept both Type-II cards and capacities over 2GB. In line with its entry-level D50, Nikon has equipped the D80 with an SD memory slot, and it supports SDHC for cards greater than 2GB.

Both card formats are available cheaply and in large capacities, although CF continues to have the edge in both respects.

The advanced features make the Canon EOS 400D a significantly better upgraded model than was expected, also placing Canon's entry-level D-SLR above its own higher end EOS 30D!

So, we happily award the new EOS 400D a '5 Star' rating and believe it's a feasible competitor to Sony's new 'Alpha A100' model. The Xti is certainly a hot addition to the Canon 'Digital Rebel' SLR range.
