Finepix Z20FD Review
Interested in getting the Fujifilm Finepix
Z20FD? Then check out this Fujifilm Finepix Z20FD review and find out
everything you need to know!
Mobile phones laid out the proof that camera devices can be more
compact and slimmer than ever.
Now different manufacturers are scrambling to make not only the most portable
point and shoot cameras, but also the most attractive ones often being
offered in vibrant colors for different crowds to digest.
Before such design improvements can be made, the lens needs to be
downsized to keep the camera slim and many of the lenses end up on the
upper right.
Now Fujifilm is taking a shot at this design spec with the Fujifilm Finepix
Z20FD and it represents the Slim Compact series as the most
affordable and basic of the series.
Fujifilm Finepix Z20FD: Camera Design
The Z20FD has a rather unique design. It comes in several flashy colors in addition to
the black and silver ones.
The lens is protected by a thin slider
that uniquely slides left and right.
This does add a little bit of thickness, but it serves as a nice
stylish way to protect the lens.
The back
view also has a unique layout offering two ring buttons
with no mode dial present.
All of the main functions can be accessed there with the exception of
the movie mode which is rested on top of the unit.
Fujifilm Finepix Z20FD: Camera Features
The Fujifilm Finepix Z20FD fully focuses on photo quality despite its stylish
looks with the Real Photo Technology
presence as evidence.
It is designed to be versatile in taking great quality images no matter
what the surroundings are although some of the fine details are soft
and some reds and blues are oversaturated.
However, the quality shines when photos are taken in 10-megapixel mode
which is the maximum and the exposure is
decent.
It is also a quick performer boasting fast Face Detection
features and automatic red-eye removal.
The camera can identify up to nine faces no matter what the lighting is. The
movement of the faces is tracked in real time with glasses on and off
and then removing the red-eye effects of every person after the flash.
The flash itself has some advantages over other competing camera models
as well thanks to the Intelligent Flash
system. This automatically adjusts the flash's intensity based on scene
detection to preserve background detail and emphasize
the focused subjects.
Another great feature is the ability to take two quick photos in
succession with one of them using the flash followed by a side-by-side
comparison of the results so the user can choose which is best.
You can take motion shots without blur and you can use the 1600
ISO setting to improve background detail in
low light at the cost of some noise grain being present. The different Special
Scene modes make it easy for beginner photographers to
go hands on taking nice pictures.
Fujifilm Finepix Z20FD: Extra Features
Some of the extras include a simple photo sharing method that allows
photos to be transferred wirelessly to other FinePix models that
support it.
You can upload your movies directly to YouTube or eBay or e-mail them to others. Before you do that, you can add stamps to make the images fun and appealing.
Although the 2.5 inch is small for browsing photos, the Micro thumbnail
view makes up for it allowing you to browse upto 100 photos in the same
screen.
