The question for you is whether this camera is really worth your hard-earnt. Check out this Coolpix digital camera review to make an informed decision!

When looking at a huge selection of digital cameras, it is easy to conclude that many of the less powerful cameras still come at a heavy price tag because of the way they are designed while more powerful cameras that cost about the same as these stylish beauties turn out to be less attractive.

However some manufacturers like Nikon hope to impress people that are looking for a sleek and powerful camera with the Nikon Coolpix S630.

Camera Design

Nikon Coolpix S630 The Nikon Coolpix S630 looks standard when the front portion is viewed and comes in a variety of dark colors including maroon, blue, grey, silver, and black.

The body is glossy and shiny, but the real uniqueness can be seen when viewing the camera from above as there is a noticeable curve which makes it easier to slip in a back jeans pocket.

The button layout on the back is quite minimal making it pretty easy to pick up and Nikon has always been known for designing simple interfaces for its 2.7-inch display.

Camera Features

Nikon Coolpix S630 Although compact, the Nikon Coolpix S630 boasts a 12.00 megapixel resolution and the lens impresses with a 7.02x zoom giving dual capabilities of a standard wide-angle (37mm) and a super telephoto (260mm).

These hardware specs are powered by Nikon's EXPEED Image Processor to keep the photos looking natural.

Every image taken is stabilized in 4 ways including a motion detection that automatically adjusts the shutter speed and ISO setting to get a clear photo without the blur caused by motion and camera shake.

The Optical VR image Stabilization makes the results even sharper.  At 3 megapixel resolutions, the ISO 6400 is available to capture even faster moving subjects and low light when flash cannot be used. Higher resolutions can make use of the ISO 3200.

Finally, sharp results usually come out because of the Best Shot Selector that takes 10 shots after the shutter button is pressed and quickly selects the best image for output.

The Scene Auto Selector is a great beginner feature that recognizes the surroundings and adjusts its settings accordingly to get a realistic and accurate image. As the scene changes, so does the camera.

When portraits are taken, the Smart Portrait System takes place as well and is responsible for the face detection enhancements where up to 12 faces can be identified and supports auto-shooting when everyone in the picture is smiling and not blinking. After the photo is taken, red-eyes are automatically fixed and darkness is restored by use of D-lighting adjustments.

Extra Features

Nikon Coolpix S630 The Nikon S630 is a balanced model that is more inclined towards newer photographers or any consumers that do not want to learn complicated controls in a digital camera.

Scene selection isn't a major concern and the controls are very accessible. The sleek design of the camera is durable and is very easy to handle without the worries of camera shakes.

It is a great camera with high resolution and good zooming that costs under $300.
