The
Nikon D70S - Reviewed!
The
Nikon D70S is based on the image quality, ease of use and camera
specifications found on the highly acclaimed D70 model. The D70S offers
more enhancements to improve your digital SLR experience and further
your photo enjoyment!
To begin with, Nikon's new D70S
boasts a 6.1
megapixel DX format CCD which yields 3,008
x 2,000-pixel images, suitable for producing larger
prints, or for creative cropping to bring out image details.
With an impressive startup
time of 0.2 seconds, the D70S is ready to
shoot when you are.
Images are processed and
recorded extremely fast & previewed images show on the cameras
bright LCD viewer almost instantly!
With the Nikon D70S, fast
action sport photography is made simple. It has the ability to shoot a
quick 3 fps (frames per second) for a
continuous burst up to 143 images, so
you'll never miss that perfect shot.
It also boasts shutter
speeds that range from 30 seconds to 1/8000
second (up to a 1/500 second flash sync
speed) so again, you'll be sure to have the flexibility you need to
capture the action exactly as and when you want.
Best of all, the D70S
adopts the Nikon F lens mount for simple compatibility
with the large comprehensive range of top quality AF
& AF-S Nikkor lenses, which have long been a
favorite of professionals globally.
Included as standard with
the Nikon D70S is the AF-S
DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm lens, a compact standard zoom
that covers the focal length range of 18-70
mm which is the equivalent of 27-105 mm
in the 35mm format.
While sporting many
advanced features you'd only expect to see in a professional-level SLR,
the Nikon D70S also supports many features that make image shooting
simple for user at any level of competency!
The D70S also features 'Digital
Vari-Program' options which automatically select the WB,
contrast, color saturation and hue settings to accurately match the
scene you've chosen.
Instead of having to worry about the digital SLR
settings, photographers have the option of selecting from one of many
pre-set modes such as Portrait, Landscape, Macro,
Action, or Night modes that'll deliver an optimized
image according to the surrounding conditions.
This means you can
concentrate on capturing that special moment whilst leaving the
annoying details to the SLR's functions!

short, although the D70S isn't the cheapest digital SLR around, the
