Panasonic Lumix DMC LX3 Review
The Panasonic Lumix DMC LX3 is another strong camera in the Panasonic
Lumix Series. It shares many of the features with its predecessor, the
LX2, but has undergone several upgrades and is a strong performer.
Check out the review of this Panasonic Lumix digital camera.
When choosing the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3, you may have already used the LX2 which was the predecessor to this compact camera. This is a step further than the LX2 which was a big hit among camera users.
Panasonic has upgraded the elements of this camera to produce another hit when it comes to compact cameras.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 has proven all the opinions of camera users who believe compact cameras are limited in what they can do to be false.
Panasonic Lumix DMC LX3 Camera Features
This camera performs in a manner that was not expected from a compact camera.
The lens is an Fs.0 24mm LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON, which is more advanced than the LX2.
Higher shutter speeds allow the LX3 to take excellent photos even when used in lower light.
Reducing the blurriness that is often a problem for compact cameras and the distortion at wide end use, the LX3 can take photos that are detailed and high resolution.
Instead of following the example of other camera manufacturers,
Panasonic has opted for a 10.1 mega pixel feature. Other
manufacturers think the more mega pixels that can be included will make
for a better picture, but this is not always true.
The LX3 has the Venus Engine IV, which is the most advanced when it comes to image processing.
Panasonic Lumix DMC LX3 Extra Features
The camera can get photos that are low-noise reducing the incidence of specks even at settings of the most sensitive.
The separation of the different types of noise is accomplished by Panasonic in this compact camera.
Utilizing a joystick operation as did the LX2, this allows the user to set the functions with ease. Shutter speed, aperture and focus are all a snap to set.
The camera also has a setting located on the barrel of the lens that allows changing the mode of focus from Macro AF, AF or MF. The Manual Focus allows a depth of field to be displayed on the screen A high-resolution screen is another improvement over the LX2 with a 3 inch, 400,000-dot resolution.
An Intelligent function of the LCD will check
and automatically adjust the backlighting up to 40% when alternating
between bright light and low light situations.
A new feature to the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 is the output capabilities.
The enjoyment of motion and still pictures in the best HD quality is possible by connecting this camera to a television using a cable that can be purchased optionally.
Another new feature is the ability to watch slideshows accompanied by music. The photos you want to include on the slideshow are chosen, select the type of music that fits the photos and you have a slideshow that is fun to watch.
Make the slideshow using the 1920 x 1080 pixel option and it can be viewed on a big screen television with the optional cable you have purchased.
Music selections include swing, urban, slow or natural.
