The display is 2.5 inches and the camera comes with a wide variety of shooting
modes. There is Scene, Clipboard, Normal Picture, Motion Picture and Intelligent Auto for the shooting modes so you should have no problem finding the right mode for the kind of photo that you are taking. It also has a video feature that has a 1280x720/30 fps. The memory uses a standard SD or SDHC card and it comes with 50MB already built in to the camera. So, if you do not currently have a SD card, you still have enough memory to work with for a little while. 
The camera is powered by a 1000 mAh lithium-ion
battery that is rechargeable. Generally, you will get about 310 photos
out of a single charge. If you are taking a lot of pictures that are using the flash option, you might find that 200 pictures per every charge is a more accurate figure. Some people find that the rechargeable feature is great while others seem to take a while to get used to it. This really is a great way to save money. The Panasonic Lumix FX37 also has the mega O.I.S. which stands for optical image stabilization. In addition, there is the Intelligent ISO, Venus Engine IV processor and the AF Tracking. It is not a flashy looking camera by any means but it certainly performs better than many cameras out on the market.
