Sony Alpha 300 Review

In the new Sony Alpha 300, Sony has given its prior models an upgrade.

You don't have to be a world renowned photographer in order to own a beauty like this one.

But it is nice to have a digital SLR camera handy to capture those once in a lifetime moments that occur from time to time.

And there's no better way to capture them than with this stunning piece.

Sony Alpha 300 front
With 10.2 megapixels, convenient live-view capabilities, and an 18mm to 70mm lens, you absolutely can't go wrong. Something that this beauty's rivals can't compete with is the supple live-view that works in real time.

It doesn't matter if you are shooting still life, moving animals, or just a family day at the beach. Good quality brings out the life of a photograph.

Sony Alpha 200 DSLR Side
Remember, a photograph can last you a lifetime, so rather have a lifetime quality picture than a faded-out dull one.

With the tilt screen function the Sony Alpha 300 offers, you will find it ideal for those stealth shots as well as the purely unique ones that only pros can capture.

With a live view screen of 2.7 inches that offers real time viewing, you will be able to create images with your LCD, like you would be able to do with a high resolution point and shoot camera. With just one movement of a switch you will be able to change from using the viewfinder for creating pictures to the live view LCD. If you specialize in taking ground level pictures, or they are just a favorite of yours, this camera makes that a lot easier thanks to its live view mode.

You don't have to go right down to the ground in order to get a peep through the viewfinder, which is fabulous. The only drawback of the Sony Alpha A300 may be that the LCD only extends vertically when it is folded out. This might not make a difference for some photographers, but to others it could be slightly annoying.

Another great aspect of this digital SLR camera is that it allows you to direct the lens around corners, which makes many shots a lot easier, in more ways than one. The weight of it is also something that needs to be considered, with all of that brilliance in just 0.2 ounces.

It can't be too light because then you wouldn't be able to balance it properly on its own for timed shots, and if it was too heavy it would become a nuisance during long photo shoots. Therefore the weight of this one is just right; not too light but not too heavy either.

The grip of the Sony Alpha A300 is in the right place too. Many other cameras have the mistake of putting the grip where your fingers work, but not this one. The grip will not be in the way of the lens at all; neither will they interfere with the pop up flash this camera features. Some settings that would be more often used than others can be found on the top of the camera for easy access.

You would hardly need to move one hand to get to these, as one hand is normally on the top of the camera anyway, steadying it. All the settings can be viewed on the screen and certain menu controls can be found at the back.

The Sony Alphas 300 frames per second is ideal for fast moving motions like sport, but will be minimized to 2 frames per second if you want to use it in the live view. There are certain settings for certain occasions, like beach shots, sunsets, bright shots, landscape shots, portrait shots and more. The in-camera picture stabilization comes in handy, as well as the other options like black and white, night time, night landscape and more.

The Sony Alpha 300 is a smooth, stylish digital SLR camera that is easy to use and gives you the best performance.

It's very straight forward to use with a lot of capabilities and functions in one, so it saves you from having more than one camera.

This model is fun to use.

It's beautiful, and it does a wonderful job.
