Sony
Cybershot W50 - Reviewed
The
new Sony Cybershot W50 digital camera combines high-resolution 6.0 MP
performance & a compact design with the appeal of traditional
rangefinder shooting.
Both first time buyers & step-up
photography enthusiasts will have a camera that's equally adept at
saving their memories & capturing their photographical vision.
The Sony Cybershot W50
combines a sleek metal body and compact
design with new high-tech features for image quality and
operating convenience.
Super-sharp
6.0-megapixel resolution delivers more detail when you're cropping or
making larger prints.
Boasting a Carl Zeiss 3x optical zoom lens and
High Sensitivity Mode (ISO 1000) which combines to produce sharp images
even in low-light conditions.
Sony's Clear RAW NR processing also minimizes the noise distortion of
high-sensitivity shots.
The extra-large 2.5-inch
LCD screen of the W50 not only gives you a big, bright
image for setting up shots and checking results.
It also displays a convenient camera Function Guide,
with
text and icons for easy-to-operate features like color and brightness
adjustments, image size, flash & self-timer modes and more.
The Sony Cybershot W50 even
provides an eye-level viewfinder for
traditional shooting.
You won't find this in many modern digital
compacts. Despite its compact size, the W50 incorporates shooting
features every digital photographer wants.
It has a 32 MB
Internal Memory for capturing images without a flash memory card and a
built in slot for optional Memory Stick and Memory Stick PRO Duo media.
As seems to be the case
with most Sony digital cameras, the user-friendly controls and simple
on-screen Function Guide text & icon display help you set up
camera functions for your shots with ease.
In our opinion, one of the
best features on Sony's cameras is the powerful Lithium
Ion rechargeable batteries, the DSC-W50 can capture up
to 390 images, which is easily enough for
a whole vacation without the worry of having to change to a fresh set!
The compact BC-CSG battery charger is also supplied for battery
recharging on the go.
As
far as Sony digital cameras go, the Sony CyberShot DSC-W50 sports many
of the features found throughout the Sony range.
However, Sony have really put effort into finding a balance between the
internal features
that photographers benefit from without over complicating things too
much.
A job well done with this model!
